Paradisi Artificiali
VA – Paradisi Artificiali brings together four distinct sound compositions, each resisting the urge to resemble the others but united by the way they manipulate perception. Polygonia crafts shifting rhythmic paths where the groove warps and regenerates in real time, maintaining an organic tension that keeps the body in motion without ever truly settling into place.
Feral operates through subtraction, slowing time and excavating sound’s spatial depth. Its tracks don’t progress so much as they envelop, drawing the listener inward into a layered, introspective space. Agonis introduces a more unstable, sensory thread, weaving transitions and accumulations that build in stages. Frequencies become tangible matter, and the progression unfolds without ever erupting entirely.
Crossing Avenue weaves these directions together without hardening them, infusing the record with a more rooted, almost ancestral rhythmic element that surfaces in the structure of the patterns and the choice of timbre.
The result isn’t a neat synthesis, but a coexistence. The tracks unfold along a shared line without ever converging, articulating a dynamic balance between tension and release. It’s an album that works through gradual alterations, through subtle slippages in perception, as in “Les Paradis Artificiels”. The point isn’t escape, but intensification. The sound burrows deep, reshaping how things are experienced, until a denser, more ambiguous, more alive reality emerges.

Some projects make sense the moment you hear where they come from. For years, Bari collective Domus has worked with a clear sense of community, putting its energy into gatherings that value connection over posturing — organizing events in secret locations across southern Italy, creating spaces where music can do what it is supposed to do.
The masterminds behind Domus, the duo Crossing Avenue, are now taking that idea a step further by launching a record label that feels like a natural extension of the ethos. The debut release, Paradisi Artificiali, gathers Polygonia, Feral, Agonis, and Crossing Avenue for a compilation that is playful, heady, and built with dancers in mind.
Portico goes straight for the body but leaves plenty for the head to chew on. Crossing Avenue builds it around a taut, rolling groove that carries a distinctly tribal charge without leaning on cliché. Above it, a high-pitched sequence darts in and out of focus — not decoration, but the track’s engine. Physical, trippy, and alert. Always moving, always shifting its weight.
Domus APS stands for the founding values of underground and avant-garde electronic music — a culture with more than thirty years of history, identity, and artistic research behind it. We still see techno the way it was understood in the 1990s: not just as a music genre, but as a social and cultural phenomenon capable of shaping identities, creating connections, and leaving a profound mark on those who truly experience it.
With Alessandro — Feral — a special connection was created from the very first time we met, more than ten years ago. “Essaouira” perfectly represents his vision: minimal, dark, and profound, yet at the same time pulsating and alive. It’s a track that doesn’t reveal itself all at once; it grows through layers, working on details, tension, and a form of intensity that doesn’t need to explode in order to feel powerful.
After the journey built by the previous tracks, “Essaouira” arrives almost like a nocturnal landing point — a suspended, nearly hypnotic conclusion. It doesn’t end things in a definitive way, but instead leaves a door open, a lingering resonance.
